WEEKLY NEWSLETTER: FRIDAY 3RD JULY

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful week it has been at St Michael's! With much cooler temperatures returning, the children have enjoyed a fantastic week of learning both inside and outside the classroom. It has been lovely to see the school settle back into its usual rhythm, with children fully engaged in their lessons and making the most of the many opportunities on offer. One of the highlights of the week was our Year 4 visit to Bradwell-on-Sea, where the children took part in a pilgrimage. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring this historic and spiritual setting, reflecting on faith, community and the world around them. The children represented St Michael's brilliantly throughout the day and were a credit to the school.

This week has been an incredibly special one for our Year 6 children as they celebrated the end of their primary school journey on their residential visit to PGL Dearne Valley. Many of you will have seen the photographs shared on our Facebook page, but they truly do not capture the laughter, courage, teamwork and determination shown by every single child. From conquering fears of height, to encouraging one another through every challenge, the children have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity. Today they are enjoying an exciting day at Alton Towers before stopping for a well-earned dinner on their journey home. It has been an absolute privilege to spend the week alongside such an incredible group of young people, helping them create memories that will stay with them for many years to come.

It was also a pleasure to come together once again for our weekly Celebration Assembly. Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week, who were recognised for their hard work, resilience, kindness and determination. We are incredibly proud of everything you achieve both in and out of the classroom. It was equally wonderful to celebrate the achievements of those children who have excelled beyond the school gates. We love hearing about the talents, successes and accomplishments of our pupils and sharing these special moments together as a school family.

This week's special recognition goes to every one of our Year 6 residential children. Throughout the week they have been exceptional ambassadors for St Michael's. The staff at PGL repeatedly commented on their impeccable behaviour, outstanding manners and willingness to support one another. The kitchen team told us that they were the best school they had welcomed, praising how polite, respectful and tidy the children were throughout their stay. We also received compliments from members of the public whilst stopping at the service station, who remarked on the children's exemplary behaviour and conduct. As staff, we could not be prouder. They have represented themselves, their families and our school with such maturity and have truly embodied everything that St Michael's stands for.

As temperatures are expected to rise again next week, please continue to send your child to school with sun cream already applied, a named hat and a refillable water bottle so that they can stay cool and hydrated throughout the day.

Your child's end-of-year school report will be sent home this week. We hope you enjoy reading about the fantastic progress, achievements and personal development they have made throughout the year. If you require an additional copy of the report, please contact the school office as soon as possible and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

As another wonderful week comes to an end, we hope you have the opportunity to spend quality time with the people who matter most, whether that is enjoying days out, relaxing at home or simply making the most of the summer together.
